Minerva sighed, removing her hat and sitting at her desk. It had been a long day and she looked forward to catching up on some reading. Pouring herself a cup of tea, McGonagall picked up a book and opened to the first page.

Eyeing the door warily, Lingga chewed her lip, hand poised to knock at the door. Don't be silly, she chided herself, just knock! You need the help, and she's the teacher for the bloody class... just knock! Taking a deep breath, Lingga closed her eyes and brought her fist down on the door in quick succession, before quickly moving back a few steps so as not to be too close to the door.
As she waited, she played with a few strands of her hair. Twirling it between her fingers, tightening the strand so taught it hurt her scalp, and twirling it back.

Minerva wasn't startled by the knock, just surprised at the amount of time it took the girl to do it. She knew that she held her emotions in tight check, being a teacher before being a friend to the students, but were they afraid of her? Chuckling, Minerva tucked a loose strand of her dark hair up into her bun. Better to be afraid than to be overly comfortable and slack with the students.
"Miss Kim? What has led you to my door this evening?" Minerva opened the door as she spoke, letting the girl know that she was aware of her hovering moments before making the decision to knock.

Wincing as she realized her Professor knew she'd hesitated, Lingga cleared her throat. "A-a question... ma'am." Her voice went all squeaky, and she quickly cleared it again. Stop being silly, she's not going to bite! Fidgeting with her uniform, she took a deep breath and muttered, "Well, it's just you mentioned something about transfiguring larger animals last class, and I was wondering if you had a book I could borrow about it... the ones in the library are all checked out." She spoke quickly, the pitch of her voice steadily increasing as she went on.

Minerva looked at the girl intently, listening to her request and pondering the answer she would give. Typically, she never lent her books to students but Miss Kim was very bright and eager to advance her studies...
"All the books on the topic are gone from the library, you say?"

Hermione walked in, holding a book to her chest. "Professor McGonagall, you did say you'd give back the essays didn't you? Well, it's already gone a day, and I wanted to ask again if you could give my essay back."
Hermione looked at Lingga and said, "Did you want a Transfiguration book? I've got one here, I checked it out straight after my last lesson."
She handed the book over, hesitantly: Trangsfiguration: Larger Animals

Lingga looked over thankfully at Hermione; the two had never been close, but her fear of teachers did not extend over to Hermione. Besides, sometimes she felt a connection to muggleborns, and Hermione fell under that category exquisitely. Taking the book out of Hermione's hands, she looked at the cover before flipping it over to examine the index closely. "Hmm, yeh, this'll do. Thanks, Granger." She grinned brightly at Hermione, "I'll have it over to you by tomorrow lunch, after tomorrow tops." Nodding at her Professor nervously, she turned and flounced out of the room.
